After some more hours bus driving, I finally arrived in Melbourne. The weather is fresh (not compared to Europe tough!) but it was sunny and it got soon warmer 😉 Anyway, as Melbourne is known for their Street Art, I packed my camera and went out for finding them … Well, very easy to find … they are literally everywhere … in Fitzroy, CBD, … One better than the other … 😁… Read More

So, today I headed off to Melbourne… well, so I decided to hopp off the bus in Canberra. If I am passing the city anyway… why not have a look at the capital 😁 I have to say, there is not too much to see … anyway, I had a nice day walking to the parliament house … and visiting the National Museum of Australia where they just had the special exhibition… Read More

Welcome to Sydney! I just arrived yesterday evening by train from the Blue Mountains. My Hostel here is fantastic (YHA @ the harbour). The view from the roof top is just unbeatable – opera house and Sydney bridge 😁 Anyway, to get as much as possible from my Sydney stay (even though it was a cloudy and rainy day again), I joined today a free city tour. I did not know what… Read More

Well, after I arrived yesterday in Noosa I met surprisingly my friend Hariette from the Uluru trip at the hostel … and, as small as Australia is, … we are also on the same tour 😁 Anyway, the tour started today … the forecast was rain … which we also had, till we arrived at rainbow beach … <<<<< terwards we had a great day driving on the island over the beach… Read More

Before moving to Perth by plane in the afternoon, I have a couple of hours to explore a bit more the closer area of Darwin. I went to the Museum & Art Gallerey of NT. They have an AC 😁 and the visit is overall free.  The museum is quite nice and interesting. Worth to go if you have a few hours left. To get there by bus is pretty much easy…. Read More

After Gili Air we just moved by speed boat and shuttle bus to the well known Ubud. The options of tours is never ending. We chose to go for a water temple blessing  at Tirta Empul Temple early in the morning, visit of a famous lubak farm and getting a view of the rice fields. Start was at 7.30am to make sure we get there before all the other tourists arrive. Even… Read More

Read More

By: Art Buchwald Heavenly Father, look down on us, your humble, obedient tourist servants who are doomed to travel this Earth taking photographs, mailing postcards, buying souvenirs and walking around in drip-dry underwear. We beseech you, oh Lord, to see that our plane is not hijacked, our luggage is not lost and our overweight baggage goes unnoticed. Protect us from surly and unscrupulous taxi drivers, avaricious porters and unlicensed English-speaking guides. Give… Read More

One of our optional evening activities was Thai culture and language which was very interesting.  They thought us the most important cultural behavior – dos and don’ts – as well as some backgrounds about their way of living. Another part was some little frases in Thai as well as singing a little elephant song 😁 I assume we were not as good as expected in singing since they kept laughing 😁 >… Read More

To get to my next part of my journey I took a 12h night ride by train to Chiang Mai. A really cool experience. And have to say quite comfortable… 😁  I left Bangkok at 6pm from the Hua Lamphong Railway Station. As waiting on the train to leave I witnessed a photo shoot of a wedding- quite surprising for me ☺️   I can not say that this is a very… Read More
