Beside the astonishing nature here in New Zealand, a big part is also the Maori culture. So i visited the Whakarewarewa village (the living Maori Village). The place is next to Rotorua, in a unique geothermal valley. Beside a guided tour which gave a lot of inputs about their history and heritage, I enjoyed their cultural performance – which I really liked very much! I also spend some time walking through their… Read More

Pick Up: 9am and 4 wineries to taste… 🍷 First stop on our day tour was the whispering wall. After this we started our first testing at 1847 winery! At the second stop (Peter Lehmann), we tasted a sparkling shiraz! Very special wine creation which I liked a lot – very refreshing! In this place we also had our lunch which was veeeeery tasty! After a short walk of 15′ we reached… Read More

Todays goal was to see some Silo-Art installations. Unfortunately they are a bit off my track back to Melbourne… anyway, I started the ‘little’ detour in the morning and got not disappointed 😁 The original one (first) would have been even a bit further up – there are 6 installations, spread over 200km. Due to my timing (drop-off the car and catching the flight to Adelaide) I had to stop at the… Read More

After some more hours bus driving, I finally arrived in Melbourne. The weather is fresh (not compared to Europe tough!) but it was sunny and it got soon warmer 😉 Anyway, as Melbourne is known for their Street Art, I packed my camera and went out for finding them … Well, very easy to find … they are literally everywhere … in Fitzroy, CBD, … One better than the other … 😁… Read More

So, today I headed off to Melbourne… well, so I decided to hopp off the bus in Canberra. If I am passing the city anyway… why not have a look at the capital 😁 I have to say, there is not too much to see … anyway, I had a nice day walking to the parliament house … and visiting the National Museum of Australia where they just had the special exhibition… Read More

Welcome to Sydney! I just arrived yesterday evening by train from the Blue Mountains. My Hostel here is fantastic (YHA @ the harbour). The view from the roof top is just unbeatable – opera house and Sydney bridge 😁 Anyway, to get as much as possible from my Sydney stay (even though it was a cloudy and rainy day again), I joined today a free city tour. I did not know what… Read More

Well, after I arrived yesterday in Noosa I met surprisingly my friend Hariette from the Uluru trip at the hostel … and, as small as Australia is, … we are also on the same tour 😁 Anyway, the tour started today … the forecast was rain … which we also had, till we arrived at rainbow beach … <<<<< terwards we had a great day driving on the island over the beach… Read More

Before moving to Perth by plane in the afternoon, I have a couple of hours to explore a bit more the closer area of Darwin. I went to the Museum & Art Gallerey of NT. They have an AC 😁 and the visit is overall free.  The museum is quite nice and interesting. Worth to go if you have a few hours left. To get there by bus is pretty much easy…. Read More

After Gili Air we just moved by speed boat and shuttle bus to the well known Ubud. The options of tours is never ending. We chose to go for a water temple blessing  at Tirta Empul Temple early in the morning, visit of a famous lubak farm and getting a view of the rice fields. Start was at 7.30am to make sure we get there before all the other tourists arrive. Even… Read More

Read More
