Geothermal

Today was completely dedicated to the topic ‘Geothermal’.

First we explored the Whakarewarewa Geothermal Valley.

A easy walk through a breathtaking landscape with various hot pools and craters.

The color range of the craters, landscape etc was amazing.

Afterwards we headed to the Thermal Wonderland ‘Wai-O-Tapu’ to explore some more unique and spectacular geothermal elements…

Also here we walked through the area and saw some more astonishing color ranges.

From green, yellow, orange, blue, grey, … all colors were present.

Also always present was the sulphur odor… ๐Ÿ™ˆ

But after a while you get used to it ๐Ÿ˜ … and it is truly worth it to see this great places ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ

As the final, we also had a short swim in a hot/cold stream near the ‘Wai-O-Tapu’ … which was a great experience … also the light sulphur smell of the skin was … unique ๐Ÿ™ˆ luckily it did not last for long ๐Ÿ˜

It was a fantastic day ๐Ÿ˜ therefore thanks also to Sofia which accompanied me on this day trip ๐Ÿ˜
